Along the Talisay-Tagaytay Trail, 1934
The photograph below is part of the Robert L. Pendleton Collection of the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee Digital Libraries, with the original caption/title “Batangas province (Philippines), bangkal tree and Professor Curran.” Unfortunately, there were no details given about the identity of the Curran in the photo, albeit he was in all likelihood an American official.
It was taken along the Talisay–Tagaytay trail on 23 August 1934. It has been processed using graphics editing software to lighten dark areas and improve overall sharpness.
Rights to the photo belong to the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System but has been made available by UWM for educational and non–commercial use. The original photograph is available here.
