Map of Balete, Batangas

The small lakeside town of Balete was, until 1949, part of the=now City of Lipa. In fact, it was one of the sites of old Lipa before it was abandoned in the 18th century because of the continuing violent activity of Taal Volcano. In the present day, Balete is a 5th class municipality with a land area of 2,500 hectares and a 2020 population of 24,055.

Balete is made up of 13 barangas and is part of the province’s 3rd legislative district. It can be reached from Manila via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road through the city of Lipa.
