The town of San Pascual used to be part of Bauan until it was created as a distinct municipality in 1969. It has a total land area of 5,070 hectares and a 2020 population of 69,009 as per the Philippine Census. The town has 29 barangays and is part of the Province of Batangas’ 2^nd legislative district.

San Pascual is home to many industrial and commercial establishments and as such is classified as a 1^st income class municipality. The town can be reached by road from Manila via the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road through Batangas City.
