Roster of the Pioneer Balayan Town Guerrillas, Bahia-Deguito Unit, FAIT

The Pioneer Balayan Town Guerrilla Unit was one of many units of the large Fil-American Irregular Troops (FAIT) organized by the retired American Colonel Hugh Straughn at the onset of the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. This guerrilla organization had many such units operating in other towns of Batangas, including the town of Balayan. The Balayan unit was organized by Majors Rodolfo Bahia and Amador de Guito. Hence, it was also referred to as the Bahia-Deguito unit. In this document1 is contained the approved roster of the Pioneer Balayan Town Unit.

The reader will please note that in all, the Pioneer Balayan Town Guerrillas submitted a roster consisting of 1,587 officers and enlisted men. In the end, the United States Army only officially recognized the guerrilla unit as an element of the Philippine Army in the service of the United States Armed Forces with a mere roster of forty-two (42). This is the roster that is included below.

The two-page roster, in Portable Data Format (PDF) is embedded into this site from an external source. Each page is provided with tools to zoom in/out or scroll up/down. Each page is paginated as it appears in the original document, for the benefit of researchers who may need to know the page for citation purposes.
