Hunters-ROTC Order to Strike Number 2, 9 January 1945

The Hunters-ROTC was one of the large guerrilla organizations that operated in southern Luzon during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines on to the liberation period. It had many units operating in the area, including the Province of Batangas. A composite roster submitted by the overall command of the Hunters-ROTC was recognized by the United States Army as elements of the Philippine Army in the service of the Armed Forces of the United States during the liberation period. In this page is a transcription1 of a second order to strike issued by Hunters-ROTC Guerrillas Commanding Officer Eleuterio Adevoso, a.k.a. Terry Magtangol, and endorsed to all company and town units of by one Captain Genuino del Rosario.

GENERAL HEADQUARTERS

9 January 1945

SUBJECT
TO
: Order to Strike No. 2
: All HUNTERS and Loyal Guerrillas

1. All members of this Command and that of other loyal guerrilla organizations are now authorized and encouraged to ambush all Japanese Army messengers, staff officers and unescorted Commanders, within limits of personal and general security.

2. GHQ, SWPA is greatly in need of more vital information as those that can be gathered from captured enemy documents, such as Field or Administrative Orders, log books, diaries, etc. Messages, orders, and other documents, therefore, which could be taken from the person of Japanese Army messengers should at once be forwarded to this Headquarters.

3. GHQ, SWPA further desires that captured Japanese soldiers and, especially, officers, be forwarded to it for questioning and interrogation.
