Col. Jay D. Vanderpool was the Liaison Officer sent by Headquarters, Southwest Pacific Area (SWPA) Command to southern Luzon, including Batangas, to coordinate guerrilla activities in the area in preparation for the Allied invasion. Transcriptions of a selection of his communications either with guerrilla units or offices of the United States Army are compiled in this section. In this page is a transcription1 of a Special Orders memorandum by which Vanderpool announced to all guerrilla organizations in his sector the staff of the new guerrilla command under him.

The following officers of the Hunters (ROTC) Guerrillas are hereby appointed staff officers of the General Guerrilla Command, Central Luzon, effective 1 February 1945.

2. Lt.-Col. Jaime N. Ferrer, GSC (Guerrillas), A C of S, G-1.

They shall resume office upon receipt of this order and shall be obeyed and respected as such by all concerned.
